Layout - Proud.
A perfect layout to show that a masculine layout can be created with the April kit!
Tip: Use Deco scissors to create your own ric-rac in colours that suit your layout by using coordinating cardstock.
Layout – Little, Big Girl
Tips:
Use the framedangoes as a 'mask'. Hold it on the page and sponge paint over the top. Lift to see a negative image. If desired you may also use a fine line pen to detail.
Use the framedangoes as a template - I joined both of them together to create the vevlet embellishment.
Layout - A time for Tips:
Use the Heidi Swapp silhouette letters as part of your journaling. They are also used in another part of the layout as an embellishment.
To adhere the words, running them through the Xyron makes them stick without any trace of adhesive. You may also staple, use brads, or use vellum spray. In this case I used a liquid glue and applied it only to the white areas on the back on the words. I then waited until it went tacky before sticking them down.
The flowers look great painted to match the colour of your layout. Dyes and paints both have great effects. For an added texture, sew stitching up and down each petal. As they are fabric, this is easily done.
The framedangoes do not have to be used in their 'whole form'. In this case I cut them in half and tucked them at a 90 degree angle to the flower. They have also been painted and inked.
Use partial sheets of paper by layering many of them to create a balanced background.
Subtle titles can be acheived by layering similar coloured items on top of each other. In real life, the 'Christmas' title can be seen very plainly, but in a very subtle way.
Altered item - Bunch of flowers
***Nic was inspired by this project on 2peas by Judi VanValkinburgh*** Tips - Vintage wooden cotton reels and kebab sticks are perfect for this project. I also used round wooden blocks from my kids toy box! (sshhhh!).
Curl paper on the flower petals the same way you would curl curling ribbon - with your scissors!
Inking and fine pen lining make the finer details on the project stand out. |
