Extend those rubons!!
I’m a huge fan of rubons. I love that they can be not only used as they come, but also cut up and applied so that they look different to how they were originally intended. I’ve used a Kaisercraft journal box rubon recently, for my Zest Blog Challenge.

The rubon was originally square, with journalling lines inside. I wanted something longer for my Stampavie Christmas Mouse to fit into.

Next, I cut the rubon in half and cut out the journalling lines. Then apply it to your paper so that there is a gap left, and the image now looks like a rectangle, not a square. To finish, grab a black pen (or if the rubon is white, a white gel pen) and draw in the missing bits. EASY!

I use a stylus to rub on these more detailed images, you can really ensure that each little flourish is rubbed on well before lifting the backing plastic.
