Something new from old

In my October A la Tarte kit I received some large Heidi Swapp flowers. I am usually  at a loss as to how to use them these days as I find them too big to work with as they are. Most of the time you see them folded on layouts and I thought if I was going to fold them why not cut the centres out first and use them to make up some flowers, so I did.

Step 1

Cut the centers from three or four flowers so you have rough circles. heidi swap flower step 1

Layer them on top of each other and trim if need to get the different sizes.heidi swap flower step 2

Step 2

Using a heat gun and something to hold the circles down with give them a blast so that the edges curl up.heidi swap flower step 3

Step 4

Layer them together again and finish of with a brad or button.heidi swap flower step 4

Step 5

With the flower remains fold into quarters and staple then you have a folded flower ready to tuck in behind a photo or some card. With a little spray of glimmer mist it may even pass as a skirt for a cute fairy or angel. heidi swap flower step 5

Hope you have fun playing with flowers. I know I always do.
