Inspired by Nic

and a recent Marker Monday post to share with you how I like to colour in fences.

As she said in her post, everyone would have a different way to achieve the wood look effect, and here is how I do mine.

Colour in with my base colour. Here I used E47.

I coloured in lines rather than circles and wasn’t too fussed if I didn’t get an even all over colour.

Add in E49 in areas where there would be a shadow and along some of the grain lines.

Roughly go over it again with my E47.

With my blender pen I then go over some areas taking out colour to give the wood a distressed/worn look.

For my grass area I put down a light base with G94 and then do the same as what Nic does with the flicking of the markers using both G94 and G99.

but around the base of the fence posts I use some of of my G94 and add a touch of green onto the post where I have taken away the brown in areas where you may have moss growing.

Here is my finished coloured in fence.

Stay tuned as I will be sharing with you a step post for a pop up card that I used my fence background on.
