Pop Up
I am sure you have seen cards of all shapes and sizes when blogging. Well, today I would like to share a Pop Up card or a Surprise Pop Up card as they are sometimes called. I have changed my size slightly, so when it is flat it can be popped into a standard envelope.
Here is my card:
And what is special about it?
I had so much fun making this card, so let’s get started. You will need your June kit, I have used the Full Tart, one eyelet, Distress Ink – Vintage Photo, ribbon, small roses and a stamped image, I have used a Whiff of Joy stamp.
Cut 2 pieces of cardstock 11 x 14cm and 1 piece of cardstock 9 x 14cm.
As you can see in the above photo I have rounded two corners of the 9 x 14cm cardstock, this will be your tag. Ink the edges of your tag. Cut a piece of patterned paper 8.5 x 13.5cm, round two corners, ink and adhere to your cardstock. Make a mark in the middle at the top of your tag and place your eyelet.
Put your tag aside and take one piece of your cardstock (11 x 14cm), ink and cut 2cm in, on 3 sides, so it will look like this.
Where you have cut, ink all the edges. Score at the top where you haven’t cut, then score at 4cm and again at 8.5cm. Fold along your score lines and it should look like this.
Turn this piece of cardstock over and turn your tag over. Add some adhesive tape to the bottom score line (1.5cm) and adhere the bottom of your tag, making sure you carefully line up your tag and centralise it (you can see my pencil marks). If you take your time here and do it properly, your tag will slide easily.
It will look like this.
Take your second piece of cardstock and ink the back edges. Cut a piece of patterned paper 10 x 13cm and adhere it to the front. Adhere the front of your card with your tag to this piece of cardstock, when doing this use adhesive tape on the edges. The back of your card will look like this.
Turn it over, pull your tag up and add your sentiment. I used one of the label stickers from the Full Tart.
Add your stamped image, flowers, ribbon and the rest of your embellishments. You can write a message on your tag or add another sentiment. Here is a view from the top with the tag pulled out.
I took quite a few photo’s to help explain how to make a Pop Up card, I hope you have enjoyed it and will give it a go.
