A stamping dilemma
What do you do when you come across a stamp that you love but you don’t use Copics or any other form of colouring?
Well you still get it of course! Just because you don’t colour your images it shouldn’t stop you from adding beautiful stamps to your collection and to your cards.
The Magenta ‘Iris’ stamp is a framed stamp which works perfectly as a tiled background on my card. Rather than the stamp becoming a focal point it almost becomes another layer of patterned paper. Stamped simply in black ink it provides a nice contrast against the pink patterned papers as well as providing a lovely backdrop for the bright red flower.
For the second card I chose to use chalk ink in a number of colours to add some depth and colour to the stamp. It is tricky and you do have to be careful to get the ink in the right areas and to get enough coverage so that the whole image stamps clearly (which didn’t quite work for me). This is one of those cases where practice will make perfect.
As you can see stamps don’t just have to be for people who colour. So why not check out the huge range of stamps available in store, there is bound to be something that takes your fancy.
