Our last A la Tarte for 2011 was a popular kit.  If I remember right it sold out very quickly indeed.  It included one of two Stamping Bella stamp sets which you will now find are available in store.

Lulu’s Set of Fruits.  Colleen created a gorgeous set of cards using these stamps which you can see in the December gallery.

Framed Florals by Paula.

I could not resist buying the A la Tarte at the time but I must admit the stamps had me a little stumped.  Not being a “colourer” meant I had to think a little outside the box when working with these gorgeous stamps.

After mulling over the stamps for a little while I thought about the possibility of creating a paper pieced image using the Framed Florals by Paula set.

Not all images would be suitable for paper piecing, it can be incredibly fiddly, and you do need a fair bit of patience but I was really pleased with the finished pieces.

To avoid the finished pieces looking too flat foam tape was used to highlight portions of the image.
