Hero Arts stamps

Did you know we stock Hero Arts stamps? I’ve long been a fan of Hero Arts. In fact I won a LOT of stamps from them quite a few years ago in some competitions they used to run. They are still some of my proudest bragging moments!

So we do stock them… not many… just a few favourites that myself or the dt girls must have.

You can see what we currently have in stock here. We can also order in specific stamps for you too – just ask.

This card was made using Floral Scallop. I had to have this one as I think the flowers look like Sweet Violets. My grandfather used to buy me a bunch of Sweet Violets every year for my birthday. It was a tiny little posy but smelled so sweet and delicious. I now have them growing everywhere in my garden and am amazed that someone used to pick hundreds of them to make little posies to sell.

It is so hard to not open every single image for myself. Particularly the new dragons. I’ve always loved dragons and have quite a little collection of dust catching dragon ornaments!

Anyway this card is not a dragon but one that I coloured in a few weeks ago and only got around to turning into a card last week. I’m loving colouring in the images with Copics, but have sadly lost the mojo for turning them into cards, lol.

I used the blender pen to lift some colour from her bodice to give the effect of sequins.

But on to our new images. I love this little cranky pants fairy:

After seeing this stunning card I had to ink up Flowing in Blue and do some colouring in. I wanted to try the blue/brown colour combination, but somewhere along the line I added in some pink.

This is what I ended up with:

Not quite the look I was originally going for, but she was still a lot of fun to colour in!

So when you get inspired by something does it end up the way you imagined, or do you go off on a tangent and end up with something totally different?

Purple and red

I have always loved purple and red together. The combination brings back memories of a time when I used to do odd things to my clothes to make them a little different. My favourite creation was some purple glittery stockings that I handsewed lots and lots of little red bows to them. Yes I used to wear them during the day – to college actually, lol.

So here is my latest purple and red creation:

I’ve used lots of scraps from my desk. The main patterned paper is from October Afternoon.
Image is Cupcake Kiki and is coloured with Copics. The stamped flourish is from Eclectic Images.
The bottom border has been punched with a Martha Stewart punch.

I also coloured in parts of the image with an At you Spica clear glitter pen – it’s really hard to pick up with the camera, but I did try. See the flower and the beads in here hair.
