Something I’ve discovered whilst playing with the new crayons from Lyra, is that you don’t necessarily need specialised papers to use them.  YES, you can use Watercolour paper for them, because that’s an obvious choice.  But I’ve also added colour to pre-printed images from my scrapbooking stash, including this butterfly which is from a sheet by Collections.

Because the crayons dissolve so easily, they don’t need massive amounts of water to become a creamy mix to go onto paper.  And that means that the papers don’t become all soggy or warp after drying.  I simply dipped my aquabrush onto the tips of a few colours and swiped them over the sections of the butterfly that I wanted coloured.  Once dry, I went back over the entire image with a damp brush without any paint on it, to ensure that the colours blended seamlessly.

For Copic Lovers who attend crops, classes, teach or just have limited storage space, the Copic Carry Case is the perfect solution. I have tried a few different attractive desktop displays, but this one has now replaced them all as my favourite way to store my markers. And free up desk space too!

It’s very sturdy, with a hard exterior so everything remains safe.

It’s also very portable – making transporting your Copics a breeze. Included are two carrying options – twin handles or a detachable padded shoulder strap.

Inside the unit, it comes with 6 removable baskets each with their own handles. The cups are designed to carry up to 60 sketch markers each. I have a decent sized collection of 200+ but not nearly enough to fill them all, so I have been able to make good use of every basket for all of my stamping and colouring needs.

Of course I do have markers in 4 of the cups.

But I also have a cup filled with refill inks, replacement nibs and my ABS.

And there’s still room for a cup filled with all of my other stamping requirements – Memento ink pads, acrylic blocks, craft knife, scissors, distress ink, sponges, even my Copic Swatches and a little notepad for recording ideas (and deadlines!)

But that’s not all folks!

Because my baskets are not chockablock full of markers, I found I even have some room left to store my Copic pencil case (horizontally as it holds Spica pens as well as Multiliners) and a couple of storage tins that I keep a few of my newer or favourite rubber stamps in as well as some stamped images ready to colour. There’s even a tiny bit of breathing room for more markers!

I have made a minor addition to my Carry Case too, to make it work even better for me.

I simply added to the inside of the lid, a couple of small pieces of the male side of some self adhesive hook and loop tape (velcro strips) that I got for only a couple of dollars from the dollar shop.

I then applied the female pieces to the back of a normal stationery plastic sleeve so I can easily attach it to the inside of the lid to store my Swatch Chart and a few spare pieces of blender card as well.

I just love my Copic Carry case – well worth every penny and more.

I’ve just had a few photos from our Christmas holiday developed, and the colours in this range of papers suited the photos of my boys and their dad having a swim!

It’s no secret that deep red is a colour we associate with Valentines Day and seeing it’s really only just around the corner, I’ve also used this fun range to create a little project for my husband I can only show you sneek peeks of this one because it will be up soon as a Step By Step!
